Skorbut return with EP

Following up on their successful 2007 album "Firewall" the German electro act SKORBUT now announce a new release: the "Phantom Pain" EP. The song "Phantom Pain" has already been entered for eight weeks at the number one position on the German EBM-Radio charts and has also just been included on the "Endzeit Bunkertracks IV" compilation. SKORBUT now publish this song both as an EP CD and as a download bundle, providing additional material for electro DJs.

Due to the outstanding response to the "Phantom Pain" video on SKORBUT 's websites the band has decided to feature this track as an EP prior to the release of the upcoming album. In addition to the title track five powerful remixes have been included. Two from label mates Novastorm and Kaos-Frequenz and three more from Fabious Corpus Act, Titans and Yade, bands who come highly recommended by insiders in the electro-industrial scene.

SKORBUT have also added a video clip on their new EP, which documents their live-performance of "Phantom Pain" from a concert in Minks (Belarus). The two founding members of SKORBUT are vocalist Daniel Galda and composer/producer Jörg Hüttner, who also works as a music and sound editor for Hollywood. Some of Jörg's recent credits include "Batman - The Dark Knight" and "Pirates of the Caribbean").
Armin Küster alias Boris Black who previously collaborated with SKORBUT on remixes and as a songwriter has now joined the band as a third member. Armin's songwriting brings strong dancefloor elements to SKORBUT's welknown tricky electronic arrangements. Armin is the composer of "Phantom Pain".
This lineup of musicians has produced a mixture of EBM, Hellectro and Industrial. This potent evolution of SKORBUT's music is highlighted on their upcoming fourth album. The new album is scheduled to be released later this year.

The EP's cover art by Pixelbreed creates a strong visual metaphor of phantom pain as an unborn embryo.

Biography:
Daniel Galda and Joerg Huettner met one another in the so-called "Wagner City" of Bayreuth in 1993. The two musicians played under the influence of experiemental electronic music between 1994-1996 and recorded various demo sessions. At this point there was no thought to actually publish these songs. At this time, Joerg Huettner was an active member of the bands Relatives Menschsein and Dorsetshire. Daniel Galda was a member of kAlte fArben and made a name for himself as a live musician for Das Ich.
In 1998, Flatline Records took an interest in the duo's songs, and decided to put the song Fuel on their now legendary Flatline Compilation. The song was a hit for months in underground clubs across Europe and America. As a result, more compilation and sampler contributions followed and the call for a Skorbut release became stronger.

In 2000, Skorbut became a trio. The new man in the group was Rober Pollich. Robert strengthened Skorbut as a lyricist, live keyboarder and additional vocalist and was viewed as a full-time member of the band. The debut Album Log_In was released in 2001 with the german Label Scanner. This record was exceptionally well received abroad and established itself with songs like 5 Minutes Rhythm or Next Step Of Evolution in the Clubs.
Due to its success, Skorbut decided to begin work on a new Album. In 2003 the band and its original label Scanner parted ways. With the new label Sonic-X and with the 2005 launch of a new CD, Access All Areas, the musical journey of Skorbut continued.
In April 2007 Skorbut's third album Firewall was released. Ahead of the release of the full length album Firewall, a pre-release EP 9 Lives Later was made available for download on the Skorbut website. The band, which was again a duo, had noticeably progressed musically without losing any of their roots from earlier recordings. Firewall demonstrated a great step forward for the band, and was accompanied by new sophisticated artwork, photos and logo. Skorbut's artwork was done in cooperation with well reknowned photographer Ansgar Noeth.

Now in 2009 with the release of their Phantom Pain EP Skorbut are again a trio. Armin Küster alias Boris Black who previously collaborated with Skorbut on remixes and as a songwriter has now joined the band as a third member. Armin's songwriting brings strong dancefloor elements to Skorbut's welknown tricky electronic arrangements. Armin is the composer of Phantom Pain.

The new EP with its 6 tracks is an outstanding profressional production featuring a mixture of EBM, Hellectro and Industrial and includes a video clip.

The new LP is planned for 2009.

PHASE III – The voice of Mastertune is B.A.C.K.!

For years S.T.E.F.F.E.N has been working as frontman of the successful Berlin-based EBM-Band Mastertune, that had released clubhits like „Time to leave“ and „B.A.C.K.“.
Now he is back – as Frontman of the Band PHASE III , that will release their debut on April 17. Phase III is formed around the core of S.T.E.F.F.E.N, Leviathan, Spif Anderson (Suicide Booth, LENNART) and Graf Tarek.

PHASE III works with several guest musicians and singers, such as guitarist Patrick Hiller and vocalist David Williamson, who performes all speech samples – thus the band can avoid using samples from movies.

A first fit of PHASE III has been the song „Trauermarsch“ that had been produced by Thomas Hoffmann (Reamonn, Qntal) at the reknowned Weltraum Studios, where famous albums of Die Ärzte, Farin Urlaub und Sportfreunde Stiller came to light.
Aim for the PHASE III -Debut „Es wird dunkel“ was to create a blend of music of electro and pop elements with guitars focused on clubsound. Variety of vocals has been achieved by using the multi-facetted voice of S.T.E.F.F.E.N in ist full extent.

Two scene classics, „Fade to grey“ (Visage) and „True Faith“ (New Order), as well as Mastertune-Track „B.A.C.K.“ were revived for the album.

When you have listened to it, you need to have it!

PHASE III – there is much to hear and to see!

First CD for German-Brazilian Project Wintry

Wintry are formed by Alex Twin (3 Cold Men & Individual Industry) and Anne Goldacker (ex- Obsc(y)re).

Wintry - ATMOSPHERE AROUND USWintry mixes melancholy and ethereal sounds together with tribal percussion and electro beats, which creates an atmospheric crossover between Dark Wave & Ethereal Pop.
The project came about when Alex recorded some demo tracks in 1995 which sounded very different to Individual Industry's style and so Wintry was born. After that, Alex stopped the project to go ahead with 3 Cold Men and just in 2000, he took some old ideas and started work on this project again. He worked some months on the debut album and Maurizio Bonito did the production. Previous, the band had a guest singer, Sheila. She recorded just one song for the German compilation, Harmonia Mundi released in 2006 by Danse Macabre Records.

In 2007, Anne Goldacker came to the band, and started record the vocals for the first album. “Atmosphere around Us” is the debut album of the Brazilian/German band. Recorded between 2000 and 2008 it was produced by Maurizio Bonito (3 Cold Men) & Marcelo Gallo (Pitch Yarn of Matter and Mauve) and mixed in december/2008. One limited edition was released as well, with 4 demo tracks and 6 remixes of Mechanical Moth, Sci-Fi Moritz, In Auroram, FFFC, Downward Path and Jean (Scarlet Leaves). The songs “Cinema of Soul” and “Unreale Welt” are singing in German and the others in English. Dark moments, melancholic and sometimes pop, the whole work get sounds with an own identity. Songs as “Cinema of Soul”, “Voices”, “True Lies”, “Unreale Welt” and “Don't give Away Your Dreams” give us the main idea of the band's sound, with atmospheric strings, dark/tribal percussions and dense vocals. Tracks like “Time” and “Words”, show us a 80´s side of the band, with pop melodies and construction. In “Burning Soul”, sounds more electro and old school, with old style's sequences.

Somewhere between Dead Can Dance & Delerium, Wintry form a bridge between 80s Goth and 21st century electro.
