Portugal's No.1 electro ESC return with 3rd album

ESC - Eden Synthetic Corps were formed in 2005. Their early songs started getting rave reviews all over the internet and they signed a record deal with Dark Dimensions / Scanner just a couple of months after their formation.

Their debut album Matte (released in 2006) was enthusiastically received all over the Alternative community and the word was all over that there was a finally an Electro-Industrial band from Portugal worth listening.

ESC always tried their best to sound unique among hundreds of clones and they achieved a new level of identity when they released Enhancer. Enhancer is a concept album that tells the story of a serial killer on a women killing spree. The artwork was widely considered as one of the best among all the bands in the same musical universe and the album followed the path of Matte by getting great reviews from the press and great feedback from listeners. Along with Enhancer came ESC's first international shows and another presence in the DAC (Deutsche Alternative Charts) top ten albums.

Their third album is on the way, featuring yet another concept, portrayed as comics, on the artwork of a luxurious digipack packaging. "Eight Thousand Square Feet" brings us ESC's most intense album to date, featuring guests such as Carsten Jacek from [:SITD:] and Jan L. from X-Fusion.

If you like intense beats, a spine-tingling atmosphere and dark harsh vocals, there's no going wrong if you give ESC a try.

Front Line Assembly return with single

Always expanding and reconstructing electronic and industrial music to its breaking point while keeping rhythm and melody intact, FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY are preparing to unleash the latest chapter in their storied history with the release of IMPROVISED. ELECTRONIC. DEVICE. on June 25, 2010 on Dependent.

“I.E.D. is definitely furthering the direction of the band and sound, creatively and artistically,” explains founder and mastermind behind FLA, Bill Leeb. “We’re finding new ways to make sound.”

A hearty and robust album thick with a hybrid of electronics and guitars, I.E.D. takes their trademark sound and beefs it up with metallic guitars and stylized industrial beats. Kicking off with the adrenalineinfused title track, it’s apparent that this is a new and improved FLA. “This is the first time in FRONT LINE history that we did a track in a 5/4 signature,”explains Bill. “Chris (Peterson, keyboards) was pushing for more diversity, chal lenging the band to do something different. We wanted this track to be as challenging and complex as the world we live in as there are no easy answers.”

From the electronic bounce of “Hostage” to the dark metal of “Release” to the ambient and atmospheric closing track, “Downfall”, I.E.D. is an album rife with the FLA’s brand of intelligent dance music. The first single “Shifting Through the Lens” is the most danceable track FLA has created in the last decade and came together quite naturally. “Jeremy (Inkel, keyboards) came up with the original sequence for the verse and chorus and, right away, I really liked what I heard,” Bill explains. “It really brings together a lot of the different aspects of industrial and electronic that we all like. ”The inimitable Al Jourgensen (Ministry, Revolting Cocks) guests on the sonic industrial onslaught of “Stupidity,” which Bill describes as “inspired by the Ministry album „The Last Sucker“. Jeremy was on tour with his other band Left Spine Down supporting RevCo and he get to know Al really well. We’re really excited to have him on it!” adds Jeremy, “Not only did Al agree to do the vocals, but he got his hands dirty with the production and mixed the whole song in his studio in El Paso.”

Formed in 1986 when Bill left Skinny Puppy, FLA are still as vital and energetic as ever. With US and European tours planned for Summer and Fall 2010, they’re gearing up for their legendary epic live performances. “We’re quite excited (to tour),” Bill adds. “We feel we have grown as a band over the last four years. We really feel this new album will sound great live and can’t wait to get out there and be creative with it!”

A slap in the face or rednecks with style ?

With their debut album "Auf die Fresse ???" ("A slap in the face") the music project "statiCViolence" pipes up verbally, acoustically and visually quite provoking.

In doing so the three gunmen prove that rednecks definitely can have style. The songs are predominately in German language and deal with stereotypes of our society.
The direct lyrics are a verbal slap into the face of the audience. With the 12 tracks "statiCViolence" is presenting a guide line for surviving on the battlefields of life.

The whole variety of fury, hate and love is shown and a bloody mirror is hold up to the life. At this a multitude of different style elements are merged intentionally into each other. Hereby great importance was attached to the catchy and direct lyrics which unmistakable represent the attitude towards life.
For the eponymous song "Auf die Fresse? Fertig? Los!" the lord of the grubs, Dr. Mark Bennecke, could be engaged.

Beside this song "statiCViolence" also did compose a homage to the by many favoured but also very controversial ego shooter game Counterstrike. This song could absolutely establish in the CS scene and is definitely worth to be checked out.
But also the enjoyable things in life is given attention to - like in the song "Ficken fetzt" which broaches the issue of horniness at sex in all its variations.

At the end of the regular tracks of this album "statiCViolence" shows that the are also still able to create even-tempered songs. By using irony they bring the album to a perfect end after many songs dominated by fury and hate.

Happy End ? Not at all.
The abundant album is completed by 5 remixes beside the regular songs. Therefore the in this music scene well known artists Faderhead and Soman could be involved in this project. Thereby Faderhead dealt with the old school-oriented track "Verhör" and Soman did edit the track " Auf die Fresse? Fertig? Los!".
The three remixes of the Counterstrike theme were done by the artists Neustrohm, Giftstrauch and R@zorbla.de who made them to clear candidates for the clubs and also perfect this album.

Not only acoustically some changes in style will be realised by the listener. Also the artwork on the cover of this album was already changed in style intentionally. But hear and look yourselves. And you will also realise that rednecks definitely can be delightful.
