FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY detonate their new record

Always expanding and reconstructing electronic and industrial music to its breaking point while keeping rhythm and melody intact, FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY are preparing to unleash the latest chapter in their storied history with the release of IMPROVISED. ELECTRONIC. DEVICE. on June 25, 2010 on Dependent.

“I.E.D. is definitely furthering the direction of the band and sound, creatively and artistically,” explains founder and mastermind behind FLA, Bill Leeb. “We’re finding new ways to make sound.”

A hearty and robust album thick with a hybrid of electronics and guitars, I.E.D. takes their trademark sound and beefs it up with metallic guitars and stylized industrial beats. Kicking off with the adrenalineinfused title track, it’s apparent that this is a new and improved FLA. “This is the first time in FRONT LINE history that we did a track in a 5/4 signature,”explains Bill. “Chris (Peterson, keyboards) was pushing for more diversity, chal lenging the band to do something different. We wanted this track to be as challenging and complex as the world we live in as there are no easy answers.”

From the electronic bounce of “Hostage” to the dark metal of “Release” to the ambient and atmospheric closing track, “Downfall”, I.E.D. is an album rife with the FLA’s brand of intelligent dance music. The first single “Shifting Through the Lens” is the most danceable track FLA has created in the last decade and came together quite naturally. “Jeremy (Inkel, keyboards) came up with the original sequence for the verse and chorus and, right away, I really liked what I heard,” Bill explains. “It really brings together a lot of the different aspects of industrial and electronic that we all like. ”The inimitable Al Jourgensen (Ministry, Revolting Cocks) guests on the sonic industrial onslaught of “Stupidity,” which Bill describes as “inspired by the Ministry album „The Last Sucker“. Jeremy was on tour with his other band Left Spine Down supporting RevCo and he get to know Al really well. We’re really excited to have him on it!” adds Jeremy, “Not only did Al agree to do the vocals, but he got his hands dirty with the production and mixed the whole song in his studio in El Paso.”

Formed in 1986 when Bill left Skinny Puppy, FLA are still as vital and energetic as ever. With US and European tours planned for Summer and Fall 2010, they’re gearing up for their legendary epic live performances. “We’re quite excited (to tour),” Bill adds. “We feel we have grown as a band over the last four years. We really feel this new album will sound great live and can’t wait to get out there and be creative with it!”

DAS PRÄPARAT merge classic with electro on new album

The project ‘Das Präparat‘ has been given birth by Dr Hyde in 2001. The album «THX LD50» proved their will of independent development departing from their beginning with Welle:Erdball.

The new album ‘Unschuldsblicke‘ - due to be released on July 2nd - impressively demonstrates the maturation of the project by finding its own distinct style. They stick to the combination of electro and classic piano themes but added further elements of cabaret and jazz to a new Präparat-like style. With ‘Unschuldsblicke‘ ‘Das Präparat‘ delivers a very multi-faceted record.

Containing lyrics about pedophilia and fears the album is dedicated to the sorrows of childhood. Furthermore it is intended to critize the social misbalance of our time. Men ought to be provoked to rethink. The protagonist skillfully manage to be shortlasting and open-minded.

Besides the previously known mixtures of various music styles, special attention was directed towards recording quality and diversity of sound. As cream-top to the extraordinary remix of ‘Mondscheinkind‘ with hard-rocking guitar riffs, pieces like ‘Du störst‘ break away from stylistic limitations of acoustic guitars.

‘Das Präparat‘ know how to reinvent themselves repeatedly on musical as well as visual aspects. Thus, the audience will be led to ecstasy again during their next live-concerts.

KLANGSTABIL release EP of pure emotion

This collection includes the original version of klangstabil's most well-known track, which captured the attention of listeners world-wide right from its first release on a compilation in 2002.
Besides that You will find eight interpretations of 'Vertraut' demonstrating the versatility of work that can be extracted out of the catchy, familiar motif.

Some of the artists who have remixed the track have based their interpretation on intelligent dance music: the breakbeat-framed Somatic Responses version, a hybrid of breakcore and idm by u.s. project Access to Arasaka, Keef Baker's metric electro background, which turns into post-rock with dense guitars, and Architect's Daniel Myer gives us dancefloor-capable pounding beats topped with a plausible new melody line to complement the original theme. Torben Wendt (Diorama) turns 'Vertraut' into beautiful melodic body music, while Synapscape keep the original track structure but replace the instrumentation and beats, turning the theme into a heavy electronic floorburner.
KSDJ is Maurizio Blanco himself, adding some newly faceted rhythm patterns and melody lines, making his version a contemporary DJ anthem. L'Ombre from Canada ends up the remix section with lush ambient electronica at its finest. the melancholic ambiance of 'Zweiter Schritt' and 'Ein Schritt weiter' not only close this release, but also mark the end of one of the most important chapters of klangstabil's existence.

In 2002, the album 'Kopfmusik' would have been published on ant-zen but only 6 tracks were produced to completion, one of which was 'Vertraut'. The project was eventually renounced for personal reasons and 'Vertraut' was the only track published in its original version. The artwork was already completed by Aiga Rasch, an old friend of klangstabil's, famous for her illustrations for the youth series 'Die Drei ???' in which, with her very distinct technique, she has achieved great success. After 'Kopfmusik' klangstabil started straight away with 'Taking Nothing Seriously' (2004) and incorporated some elements of 'Kopfmusik' into it. The track 'Ein Schritt weiter' is an early, incomplete version of 'Away'. Other elements of 'Kopfmusik' can be heard in 'Lauf, lauf!' and 'Beziehungsohr' from the album 'Math & Emotion' (2008).

This release is not an album, it is the end of the story for 'Kopfmusik' and its history, which accompanied klangstabil for ten years. Finally, they close that book and put it on the shelf. Detailed information on 'Vertraut' and 'Kopfmusik' will be found in the enclosed cd booklet.

Biography:
klangstabil was founded in 1994 by Maurizio Blanco and Boris May. Maurizio Blanco and Boris May met in 1994. Before then, Maurizio Blanco had already spent most of his life experimenting with electronic music and expressing his own ideas, however Boris May had only been listening to music up to that point in time.

Both of them soon realised that they were communicating on the same level. Soon, a new vision was formed: to make people see music in a different way by employing new techniques and ideas. The name, klangstabil, more or less came off the top of their heads, but it fit quite well for both of them.

They started producing without ever having the intention of having anything released; in their opinion, they were merely researching personal expression. Their main inspiration was and is still Kraftwerk. Not after long, they were performing in small live-acts which resulted in a record-label showing interest in them. Their first production was released on Vinyl, and you can expect to see more of the same in the future.

klangstabil's work ethic can be accurately defined as: one step back, two steps forward. With this attitude, klangstabil is creating their own niche by taking principal elements of the very beginning of electronic music and relating these elements to the modern times today. In order to understand what surrounds us day by day, one has to see things from the perspective of creation. As more progress is made, more questions arise. To put it simply: how does a tune get created, what is its meaning and what is its sound there for? In order to understand, one has to go and live through the decades of a wide musical spectrum.

klangstabil continues to give an acoustic answer to the question: "what's next?"

Interview with Portugese Electro No.1 - ESC

We interviewed the guys from ESC about their new album "Eight Tousand Square Feet" and about many funny stuff....

Hi guys, many thanks in advance that you take your time to answer our questions. Well, you have been around for some years and this is the new release coming soon after the phantastic album of 2008.
So what have you been up to inbetween?

G. Diesel: Hi and thanks a lot for the interview! Hypecrash and Chainheart dedicated some of their time to composing music for their side project, Hystakmine. Then we started composing our new album, which took us quite some time because we wanted it to surpass the two previous ones, so we all gave our best to make that happen.

Maybe we should remind our reader about the band line-up. Hypercrash, can you shortly tell us some key facts about Chainheart?

Hypecrash: He’s usually a down-to-earth guy. He enjoys driving his 4x4 vehicle over everything and he plays the guitar while he watches a show on DVD and listens to music on his stereo, all at once.

Chainheart, what is the most intriguing fact about Glamour Diesel?

Chainheart: He eats Corn Flakes while drinking Coke.

G. Diesel, what was your first impression when you met Hypercrash and did it prove to be true?

G. Diesel: He actually ringed my doorbell and asked me for a Gameboy game, and I didn’t even know him. So my first impression was „you gotta be kidding me!!“.

And Hypercrash, please introduce IDK to us?

Hypercrash: He's a drummer, and I guess all drummers are crazy so yes, he's the craziest guy in the band.

How do you four describe your sound?

Hypecrash: Our sound is melodic (mostly dark melodies), the beats are pretty intense and the vocals are harsh. We really try hard to make our music sound unique among hundreds of clones and we carry a little bit of a „metal feeling“ from our previous incarnation as a band, even if we don’t include guitars.

How did you meet and plan to form a band of that genre?

IDK: We already had a band before, for more than ten years. One day we decided we neded a radical change so we started composing songs in a completely different style and since we all enjoyed aggressive industrial music, here we are. I played the drums and now I sing so it was a pretty radical change.

What is the meaning of the album’s title „Eight Thousand Square Feet“?

G. Diesel: Eight Thousand Square Feet is the size of a mansion where all the concept takes place. A guy enters that same mansion and he finds several different dimensions and creatures inside of it. He is confronted with his past and fears for his future.

The entire work is build up as a comic strip. What can you explain about that concept?

G. Diesel – As I was starting to explain before, the album tells us the story of a man whose life changes radically as soon as, one night, he enters an abandoned mansion inside a huge dark city. I tried my best to make the story fit the songs really nicely. We had the help of a fan of ours with some of the images and since I had previously written a huge text, originally meant to be included on the booklet, I decided it would hit the listener in a stronger way if it was depicted in images, even if it only has very small excerpts of the full text.

Let’s go back in time for a moment... What do you preceive to be the differences between the new album and it’s predecessors „Matte“ and „Enhancer“?

Hypecrash: In my opinion, this album sounds a bit like a mix between Matte and Enhancer. If you listen to songs like “Correcting God’s Design” you’ll see what I mean. The obscure and moody part that’s characteristic of Enhancer and the melody and strong choruses sounding a bit more like Matte, filled with leads. This wasn’t intentional but I can’t help but feel this when I listen to it right now. I really enjoy the rhythm section of songs, so this time I tried my best to enrich it. I think ESC’s identity is really present in this third work.

How had been the reactions on the first albums?

IDK: They had been just awesome. People from all around the world have sent us very positive feedback and this is what kepts us going and gave us the creative impulse to create new and better music.

Do you think you have more fans in your country or abroad?

Chainheart: Abroad, of course. I’d say the biggest part of them is in Russia, Central and Estern Europe. Portugal is a very small country with a very small scene.

Ok, „Eight Thousand Square Feet“ contains twelve songs. Is there a favourite song for you guys that you can name spontanously?

IDK: I guess we all agree that White Beast is our favourite.

Why is the song „Eight Thousand Square Feet“ giving the name for the album or vice versa?

G. Diesel: I chose that name for the song because of the dark mood that song transmits. It is exactly the mood I want people to feel when they think of the mansion where the story takes place. I actually chose the name for the song after I had named the album.

„Correcting God’s Design“ is a cool title and i can see several images in my mind about that. What do you like to correct?

G. Diesel: There are many things I’d correct actually, but bearing the concept context in mind, that song is about our main character trying to fight against what god has chosen for his destiny. The whole experience of the man inside the mansion is to be seen as redemption from his past sins.

Who or what is „Raiva“?

Raiva actually means „raiva“ or „anger“ or „rabies“ (disease) in Portugese. This is a song where our character thinks about how he was mocked all his life so one day he decided to end all the mockery and murdered all of those people. He can’t help but feel he’s paying for those sins inside the house.

„Le Voyage d'Ivoire Sophisme“ – why French language? What is that song about?

G. Diesel: The title is in French but the lyrics are actually in English. The song also integrates with the concept in the story, describing another experience of our character inside the house. I have to be honest with you and tell you I have actually chosen a French title because it sounds great in French. Haha!

Jan L. of X-Fusion collaborated on that song. How did this come to happen?

Hypecrash: The song “Le Voyage d’Ivoire Sophisme” was initially meant to be an instrumental song with the Portuguese name “Psicose Dolorosa” but we ended out thinking it would sound great with vocals. I won’t hide that X-Fusion and Noisuf-X are two of my favourite bands so it was a privilege to be able to work with Jan so we spoke with him to learn about his availability and interest and the final result was absolutely awesome.

What happened at -48°C in your world?

G. Diesel: That is the temperature our character faces in one of the rooms/dimensions he is transported to. 12ºC is too cold for us so if this happened in our world, bye bye ESC.

«Leitbild» is the only German track with Carsten of [:SITD:] participating on it. In what extent did he take influence on the song or sound?

G. Diesel: “Leitbild” was, together with “Concrete” and “An Horizon Inside Four Walls”, one of the songs I wrote for this new album. As soon as I finished it I really thought to myself that it would sound awesome with Carsten’s vocals. I always loved [:SITD:] and they were one of the main reasons we started playing this style so it was an honor for us to have him singing in one of our songs. I asked him to write the lyrics in German and he ended out creating a great, great lyric for the song. I am really please with the result and I’m sure both ESC and [:SITD:] fans will love it so I also invite them to give it a listen!

How long did you work on the album? Are there any remarkable anecdotes about the production process?

IDK: Apart from the usual goofing around, nothing really remarkable I can think of at the moment. We worked for quite some time on the album because we can’t always be together because of our professional lives and also because we wanted the sound to be close to perfect this time.

If you have superpowers, what kind of will they be?

G. Diesel: Hmm, I’d like to be able to eat everything I want and still maintain a healthy blood. I just got a blood analysis done and I’m screwed! Invisibility would be nice though...

IDK: Invisibility too I guess.

Hypecrash: Is there anything better than invisibility?

Chainheart: I guess not. Invisibility too. Haha!

Can you reveal us what are the most important things in your lifes that you could never abandon?

All: Our families and true friends of course.

Given Britney Spears would suddenly appear in your bedroom at night. What would you do?

G. Diesel: I’d play chess with her. I’m pretty sure I’d win! For Christ sakes, couldn’t you choose Christina Aguilera instead?

IDK: Strap her to the bed and make her listen to Mr. Bungle for twelve days.

Hypecrash: I’d call the guys at the mental hospital.

Chainheart: I’d call the police.

What would you spend a Million Dollar Jackpot on?

G. Diesel: Hmm, a big house and travel a lot I guess.

IDK: I need some months to think about that.

Chainheart: Travel for as long as the money lasts.

Hypecrash: Go round the world.

What are your spontanous thoughts about the following topics:

Economic crisis

G. Diesel: Weren’t we always on a crisis? I’ve grown with that word ever since I was born and to be honest, I’m not living any worse now than I did before. It’s a pity for people with a very small income on numerous families though...

Oil pollution

Hypecrash: People responsible for that should be punished severely.

Barak Obama

IDK: He seems like a good guy but I’m afraid he’ll be captured by the big octopus of political evil just like everyone else.

God

G. Diesel: I can’t say I’m a religious person but I respect people who believe in something.

Belief

Hypecrash: You need to believe in yourself if you want to go anywhere with your projects in life.

ESC

Chainheart: My favourite key on the keyboard. Could do with one in real life too.

Greece

Hypecrash: looks like a great country to visit but I can’t forgive them for winning the Euro cup here in 2004.

Music

IDK: Can’t live without it.

Skinny Puppy

G. Diesel: Makes me want to breakdance.

Madonna

Hypecrash: There’s worse.

The Cure

IDK: Disintegration is the soundtrack for many of the sunny afternoons on my terrace drinking beer.

Mr. D’Angelo

G. Diesel: He‘s the boss! Really cool and funny in real life too!

Past

G. Diesel: Yesterday.

Present

Chainheart: Today.

Future

IDK: Michael J. Fox.

What are your aims, wishes or plans for the future of ESC?

All: We hope to play live abroad as much as possible. That’s our main aim for the future of ESC.

Many thanks for answering all those questions and we wish you much success for the third album „Eight Thouand Square Feet“ for ESC. Now we have some time and space for your final words....

All: Thank you so much for the kind words. The interview was great and really funny! We’d like to ask everyone who enjoys electro-industrial music with character, identity and intense beats to give us a listen. We promise you won’t be disappointed!

Interview with GIRLS ON FILM

Lucy interviewed the girls of GIRLS ON FILM about their bandhistory and their new EP "Mental Image".

Hello girls, first of all many thanks for taking your time answer the questions as an introduction of a very interesting band and a superb new EP “Mental Image,“ that will be released in Europe now for the first time.

K: Thank you for the kind words.

Maybe we can start off with a short introduction of yourselves. So, Rio, what can you tell us about Kazhmir?

R: She’s incredibly confident and friendly. Wicked multi-tasker. Stupid funny. Dead sexy. Ingenious. Diplomatic. Focused. Fun-loving. Ridiculously talented. Not a good liar.

And Kazhmir, what is important to know about Rio?

K: She’s one of the most exquisitely funky, creative, funny, talented, selfless, insightful, articulate people I know. She also has a kick-ass vinyl collection that is “to die for”.

As you are an all-female band, how does it feel, without a rooster in the yard?

R: Ha ha ha ha, “rooster in the yard”!! That’s hilarious! I’m not sure how I could compare it to anything else since we’ve been an allfemale band for so long…I’m sure there’s a different dynamic at play, but I don’t know if that’s really got more to do with the fact that every group of musicians has its own chemistry. We didn’t really do the all-female thing on purpose, but it just seemed to work out that way...we were friends that wanted to play music and we recruited other friends that happened to be women as well. I think we would play with anyone, male or female, as long as we got along and had some of the same interests.

You did start as a band of four, now you are two. What happened in the time in between, can you shortly summarize your bio maybe? How did you find together to form a band?

R: Kazhmir and I started writing together back in 2000 or so, and she taught herself how to play bass in the process. We knew we wanted to be a new wave band, so we bought some electronic drums and searched high and low for a keyboardist and a drummer. After a few early lineup shifts, we wound up as a 4-piece and slowly developed our sound and stage show over time. There were a lot of shows, traveling all over the southeastern U.S., recording, and major drama in between! We were a 4-member band for about seven years, and last year we streamlined to a duo after the departure of our long-time drummer (Machine) and keyboardist (Metro).

Why did it take five releases until you come across the Sea to Europe?

K: Of course we didn’t intend to wait so long, we were dying to make it over! We just had financial issues…which is a nice way of saying that we are starving artists.

When I read the band name for the first time, I was reminded of Duran Duran’s song. Is there any connection to it?

R: We love that song, obviously! Back several years ago when Kazhmir and I were first starting out, I remember flipping through a magazine while on the phone with her, seeing a picture of Duran Duran hotness, and thinking what an awesome band name “Girls on Film” sounded like. I think we both were like, “Oh God, yeah!”

How can you describe your music in three words?

K: “Icy-cold glamwave.” Or how about “Lipstick synth pop.”

What does the title ”Mental Image“ stand for?

K: “Mental Image” is actually a lyric from a song that did not make it onto the album!

On the new EP there are five original songs and four remixes. Kazhmir, what comes into your mind about the remix of „Pitiless Friend“ by Macutchi?

R: Love, love, love the treatment of the vocals! Sorry, I had to cut in. ;-)

K: this remix is so fresh! It makes the song incredibly danceable, which always gets me hot.

Is there any feeling you remember when you heard the DJ F Remix of Medicated Mind, Rio?

R: I think I was jumping up and down. DJ F’s remix is really energetic…it changes tempo at one point in the song and turns into this totally sexy sort of slow jam, but then changes up again and makes you want to dance.

Why there is no remix of „Devil’s Lies“?

R: We were fortunate to have some of the best remix artists out there work on our tracks and we originally thought that we would have a remix for each song on the maxi-EP, but in the end, I think we decided that “Devil’s Lies” was so much more mellow than the other songs that it maybe didn’t really lend itself to be remixed.

The production was supported by well-known producers like Geza X (Dead Kennedys and more) and Paul Roessler. How did they get interested in your band?

K: We were contacted by Satellite Park Studios (Geza and Paul’s recording studio) to see if we were interested in recording some tracks with them. They are incredibly supportive of indie bands, and even though they typically work on major-label projects, they took us on as a “passion project”. It was humbling to work in the presence of such greatness.

Are there any anecdotes you like to talk about that happened during the production?

R: Well, we went to Malibu as a 4-piece and recorded with Geza and Paul, and the two of them were so fun to work with. It was a little hard not to be in awe of them just because of their accomplishments. They made us feel very comfortable and by the end of the process, we’d had such a great time that we didn’t want to come home! We’re so happy with the record. I also remember being in the studio one day with the rest of the Girls and Frank Infante walked in and we about died…he was super nice, too. Of course there was also some band drama going on….we were having some internal issues at the time.

Okay, let’s take a look onto the details of the songs. What topics do your songs cover – fiction or reality?

R: You know, it’s a little bit of both. One part real, one part made up, and a good dose of fantasy as well. Compromise, star-crossed love, alienation, lust, dissatisfaction, and sometimes general ridiculousness.

What is the song „Metrosexual“ about? How do you define that term for you?

K: “Metrosexual” is a thinly-veiled homage to someone I’m too embarrassed to call out. And for me, a metrosexual is someone meticulous in grooming and personal style.

Who is your „Pitiless Friend“?

R: “Pitiless Friend” is a metaphor for the emptiness left by a long-lost lover.

Can you tell us about your plans after the EP? Will there be a new album the friends can look forward to?

R: We have been working on new songs which will eventually lead to another recording. With all the shuffling of the band lineup this past year, there have been some big changes we’ve been navigating, but so far it’s been a lot of fun playing with the concept of reinventing ourselves as a duo. Vocals and bass are still performed live, as always, and Kazhmir is now writing all keyboard and drum parts. We weren’t sure how we would be perceived at first with this set up, but there has been a hugely positive response so far. I think Kazhmir and I are very closely aligned as far as our musical tastes and styles…the music has come a long way since we started out and I think the jury is still out on how the latest shakeup will change/affect the new music we’re writing.

What can you tell us about the music scene in the Sunshine State of Florida?
Are there many clubs, and what is your favourite one where one can run into you to buy you a drink or two?

K: There’s music everywhere in Florida, and we’ve been fortunate enough to play tons of really, really great venues. There are some cities, such as Gainesville, where electronic-based music is very much its own scene and artists are encouraged to be experimental and just have a blast. There are several clubs I’ve been to that I love, but my personal favourite is surprisingly not really a live music venue…it’s a tiki lounge called Waterworks that’s decorated with totem poles and puffer fish and serves drinks in skull glasses. Fun place to relax and hear good music on a Saturday night.

What kind of music do you listen to besides Girls on Film?

R: Personally, I’m into all sorts of new wave and old wave and 80s and electro and old-school punk, funk, and 90s underground club music. I’m a fan of the Human League and Duran Duran and The Damned. Kazhmir: In addition to all of the great stuff that Rio just rattled off, I also enjoy a lot of the newer underground dancy electro-indie stuff that has been surfacing (a la 2020 Soundsystem, Ladyhawke, Santigold, Amanda Blank…)

Please tell us how your live gigs are like and what is special about them that they must not be missed!

K: A live Girls on Film show usually involve lots of big aerodynamic hair, weird dancing & synthy dance beats, quirky vocals, heavy makeup, heavy bass guitar, and that thorn in the side of every electro band, the dreaded Technical Difficulties.

Do you think you are more of a live- than a studio band?

R: Hard to say…there’s nothing as exciting as playing a live show, for all its unpredictability and energy and fun. But in the studio and with a recording, you have a much tighter control over how things end up sounding. We definitely put on a show, but enjoy the record-making process quite a bit as well.

Can you disclose some confirmed gigs in the near future?

K: We’ve got several scheduled in and around Florida and Georgia right now which will keep us busy and traveling through the summer.

Will you come to visit and tour Europe now?

R: Of course, we’ve always wanted to! As soon as we are able, we’ll be right over. The logistics will be our only obstacle!

Many thanks for the interview. Do you have some closing words to our readers out there?

K: Many thanks to YOU in return. We are super excited about the European release of our EP and hope to be playing near you sometime soon!

Portugal's No.1 electro ESC return with 3rd album

ESC - Eden Synthetic Corps were formed in 2005. Their early songs started getting rave reviews all over the internet and they signed a record deal with Dark Dimensions / Scanner just a couple of months after their formation.

Their debut album Matte (released in 2006) was enthusiastically received all over the Alternative community and the word was all over that there was a finally an Electro-Industrial band from Portugal worth listening.

ESC always tried their best to sound unique among hundreds of clones and they achieved a new level of identity when they released Enhancer. Enhancer is a concept album that tells the story of a serial killer on a women killing spree. The artwork was widely considered as one of the best among all the bands in the same musical universe and the album followed the path of Matte by getting great reviews from the press and great feedback from listeners. Along with Enhancer came ESC's first international shows and another presence in the DAC (Deutsche Alternative Charts) top ten albums.

Their third album is on the way, featuring yet another concept, portrayed as comics, on the artwork of a luxurious digipack packaging. "Eight Thousand Square Feet" brings us ESC's most intense album to date, featuring guests such as Carsten Jacek from [:SITD:] and Jan L. from X-Fusion.

If you like intense beats, a spine-tingling atmosphere and dark harsh vocals, there's no going wrong if you give ESC a try.

Front Line Assembly return with single

A slap in the face or rednecks with style ?

With their debut album "Auf die Fresse ???" ("A slap in the face") the music project "statiCViolence" pipes up verbally, acoustically and visually quite provoking.

In doing so the three gunmen prove that rednecks definitely can have style. The songs are predominately in German language and deal with stereotypes of our society.
The direct lyrics are a verbal slap into the face of the audience. With the 12 tracks "statiCViolence" is presenting a guide line for surviving on the battlefields of life.

The whole variety of fury, hate and love is shown and a bloody mirror is hold up to the life. At this a multitude of different style elements are merged intentionally into each other. Hereby great importance was attached to the catchy and direct lyrics which unmistakable represent the attitude towards life.
For the eponymous song "Auf die Fresse? Fertig? Los!" the lord of the grubs, Dr. Mark Bennecke, could be engaged.

Beside this song "statiCViolence" also did compose a homage to the by many favoured but also very controversial ego shooter game Counterstrike. This song could absolutely establish in the CS scene and is definitely worth to be checked out.
But also the enjoyable things in life is given attention to - like in the song "Ficken fetzt" which broaches the issue of horniness at sex in all its variations.

At the end of the regular tracks of this album "statiCViolence" shows that the are also still able to create even-tempered songs. By using irony they bring the album to a perfect end after many songs dominated by fury and hate.

Happy End ? Not at all.
The abundant album is completed by 5 remixes beside the regular songs. Therefore the in this music scene well known artists Faderhead and Soman could be involved in this project. Thereby Faderhead dealt with the old school-oriented track "Verhör" and Soman did edit the track " Auf die Fresse? Fertig? Los!".
The three remixes of the Counterstrike theme were done by the artists Neustrohm, Giftstrauch and R@zorbla.de who made them to clear candidates for the clubs and also perfect this album.

Not only acoustically some changes in style will be realised by the listener. Also the artwork on the cover of this album was already changed in style intentionally. But hear and look yourselves. And you will also realise that rednecks definitely can be delightful.
