PHOSGORE dominate the club!

Phosgore is a one-man project founded in 2008 by Flo Dietz. After ten years working as an Electro/EBM/Industrial DJ he decided to use his knowledge of the club scene to create music himself.
Shortly after the first self-published promotional CD called “Club Domination” was released, Phosgore was signed to the German label ProNoize. At that time, tracks like “Hardcore Shit” or “Club Domination” were already being spinned in quite a few clubs. Some sampler contributions followed on foot, such as “Fleisch” being released on “Extreme Stoerfrequenz 2” or “Pain Tutorial” being a part of the fourth installment of the famous sampler series “Endzeit Bunkertracks”, the latter being a part of many harsh DJ sets all around the globe.
To this day, Phosgore has also achieved quite a history of live shows, which include playing at the Dark Dance Treffen (Germany), the Schatten-Tanz Festival (Germany) and at the world’s longest running dark scene club: the Slimelight London. Where Phosgore plays live, only ashes (and the occasional screaming fangirl) remain. When on stage, Flo is joined by lovely Sonja, who assists him in dominating clubs all over the world.
Phosgore lacks dark romantic song texts and multi-coloured-plastic-hair sporting singers, and there are no bats flying out of anyone’s ass. Industrial, Electro and Hardstyle elements form some of the most unrelenting tracks of today’s dark music scene. Phosgore is uncompromising music for an uncompromising audience.
Now, the time of waiting is over, as the debut album “DOMINATION” is going to be released – 12 original Phosgore tracks, each one thumping like a jackhammer on steroids, plus 5 remixes by some of the biggest names of the business: Xotox, SAM, FabrikC, Stahlfrequenz and, as a premiere, [X]-RX.

DEXY CORP_ get debut out on Friday!

"Download pain, it's time to plug my hate"

DEXY CORP_ is the new rising IndustrialRock-hope from France. Intense brutality has ever been used by many bands as an accoustic stylistic device. But most of them used this to such an extent that it got more and more a banalized and boring phrase. DEXY CORP_ managed it to re-invent this brutality for themselves in order to raise the bar in the IndustrialRock genre. But they do not rest on their laurels - they go one step further.

Uncompromising songs with a skillfully done songwriting and use of instrument do not just invite the listener - they wrest him from his world into a completely new and strange universe in which dreadful and menacing future visions merge with a cold and categorical rejection of today's society. Ultra heavy industrial guitars and vertiginous
arrangements will not leave any time to rest and dwarf everything else before. Whoever admires bands like Die Krupps, Ministry or KMFDM will love DEXY CORP_!

But be careful: Use at own risk!

DER BLAUE REITER write about Chernobyl Catastrophe

NOBLESSE OBLIGE re-release their fantastic debutalbum

RepoRecords is happy to announce the international Re-Release of the Noblesse Oblige debut album Privilege Entails Responsibility. Originally released in the UK only in 2006, this is the album that established the Noblesse Oblige on the international Indie/Electro scene with early club hits such as Bitch, Daddy (Don’t Touch Me There) and Offensive Nonsense.
Like its successor IN EXILE, the album contains a wild mix of musical references, from the gothic blues of “Nervous” over Prokofiev-sampling “Caligula” to Gallic pop tribute “Quel Genre de Garcon” and soundtrack ballad “Night Train To Krakow”. The album’s raw and energetic, gloomy art- pop combined with the band’s trademark lyrical wit and dark humour has gained Noblesse Oblige a growing cult following, resulting in more than 300 Live shows over the past 4 years.

The album contains previously unreleased bonus material such as cover versions of Eric Burdon’s When I Was Young and Stephanie de Monaco’s Ouragan/Irresistible which were recorded for Edwin Brienen’s 2008 arthouse movie “L’Amour Toujours” in which Valerie and Sebastian also co-starred as actors. Also included are 8 remixes from befriended artists as diverse as Musiccargo (Amontillado Music), Toulouse Low Trax (Kreidler/Salon des Amateurs), Mona Mur, En Esch (ex-KMFDM), Avius and Laurent Ho.

Finally, the album also includes the 2 only remixes of In Exile songs – the band’s own disco edit of Tanz, Mephisto! and Mark Reeder’s remix of Duel.

This is the chance to re-discover the early music of one of the most unusual and exciting current European bands around, while the recording of the follow up album to IN EXILE is in progress and set to be released in early 2010.

The Re-Release of Privilege Entails Responsibility is available on limited edition CD with new artwork and a fold-out poster or as a MP3 download.

NOVAKILL unleash their "I Hate God" testimonial

fter a long hiatus, NOVAkILL return in 2009 with their best album yet. I Hate God builds upon the solid foundation laid by 2005’s Kill Everyone and their 2003 debut, Hard Tech for a Hard World, showcasing a more mature sound that has lost none of the edge of earlier releases. With new production methods and updated equipment, NOVAkILL deliver a cutting edge sound backed by strong song-writing. From the opening bassline of MISTAkENforGOD, the sound is instantly NOVAkILL. The album is so consistent it’s hard to pick stand-outs but DEMONIZER and weWORK are sure to be club favourites, whilst songs like CRUSADE, INCISE and eXterminate show a new-found accessibility and greater depth to NOVAkILL’s repetoire, which leaves ULTRAkILL, bloodELEkTRIk and the Ultravox cover sleepWALk to continue the band’s tradition for stomping Cyberpunk. As usual, NOVAkILL offer a wealth of bonus material on the CD, including the winners of their DEMONIZER remix competition, wallpaper images for your computer and phone and a VST instrument plugin, ULTRAkILLER, their most sophisticated synth to date.

BIOGRAPHY:
The name NOVAkILL was first used in 1996 by Sik for a one-off performance at the industrial EBM club night he and BONES were running in Sydney. BONES really liked the name and the only way he could think of to use it was to ask Sik if he was interested in working with him under that name.
Between them, BONES and Sik have more than 40 years experience with electronic music. BONES bought his first synth in 1981 and began performing solo, as DEATHLY QUIET!, in 1985. Sik started performing with his brother, as LEGION, in the late 80s. He played bass and did lead vocals but he honed his electronic skills on his Atari computer for his side-project work.
After contributing songs for two local compilations, BONES met Kai Schmidt, who was/is closely associated with German EBM band FUNKER VOGT. Kai offerred to act as NOVAkILL‘s manager and was able to get a song onto 1999’s Machinenwelt III compilation.
After a long gestation period, which saw the band move from using hardware synths to a software based set-up, Hard Tech for a Hard World was finally released in 2003 on RepoRecords in Germany, Metropolis in the USA and later on Soyuz in Russia.
2005’s Kill Everyone built on the strengths of the first album. Improvements in technology allowed them to achieve much higher quality standards and to focus more on the songs than production. It was released while NOVAkILL were in Europe to perform on the main stage at Wave Gothik Treffen in Leipzig, after a successful show at London’s Slimelight.
Between 2004 and 2007, NOVAkILL were privileged to be given the opportunity to support many of the biggest names in the scene on their Australian tours - Covenant, KMFDM, VNV Nation, Nitzer Ebb, Combichrist and others.
During this time the band continued to write new material, albeit more slowly than before. It took more than two years to get enough good material together for a new album and almost the same amount of time again to produce.
The result is 2009’s I Hate God, NOVAkILL’s strongest album to date. The band attribute this strength to a more collaborative approach, where both members have contributed to each song.
With a great new album, NOVAkILL are excited to be back with a vengeance and look forward to 2009 being a big year for the band, with bigger things to come in future years.

Informatik : Provocateurs of the consensual illusion

Da5id Din and Tyler Newman come from two successful, yet very different, musical projects; din_fiv and Battery Cage. As Informatik, they achieve results greater than the sum of their parts, using technology as a means to an end.

During the recording process, they leverage their individual musical sensibilities; with Tyler choosing a more visceral approach, over Da5id's cerebral style. Even though both of them contribute vocal and instrumental parts equally on the last two albums, the similarities stop there.

Tyler approaches the creative process guided solely by his emotional instincts, building an atmosphere and mood to express a feeling rather than a concept. On the other hand, Da5id craves structure and values reason above all else. Together, they balance each other's methodology so that the outcome is representative of their individual philosophies.

The end result is a unique sound that fuses modern recording technology with traditional popular musical forms. Informatik has dubbed this "emotional electronics".

Over the past six albums, their music has evolved in parallel with their own personal development. Originating from a nihilistic industrial dance sound, Informatik has spent the past decade moving towards a more mature, introspective style.

Their music is about message and emotion, expressing life's urgency in the context of the here and now. The band advocates that one should constantly question everything in order to construct the reality of their choosing, using their heart as their guide.

THE M.E.M.O.R.Y. LAB release debut after 10 years

THE M.E.M.O.R.Y. LAB ARE THE 'THEN' BRAINCHILD OF THE 'NOW' 3-TIME GRAMMY AWARD WINNING ENGINEER / PRODUCER / SOUND DESIGNER MARC URSELLI. THE M.E.M.O.R.Y. LAB WAS LOOSELY ESTABLISHED IN ITALY, SOMETIMES IN THE EARLY NINETIES, BUT THEIR DEBUT CD SEES THE LIGHT A FULL 10 YEARS LATER, THANKS TO MODERN TECHNOLOGY AND THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE NOW US-BASED ARTIST AND CANADIAN-BASED RECORD LABEL D-TRASH RECORDS.

THE NAME “THE M.E.M.O.R.Y. LAB” IS AN ACRONYM FOR “THE MODERN EXPRESSING MACHINES OF REVOLUTIONARY YOUTH LABORATORY” AND SUMMARIZES THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE GROUP. GROWING UP IN SOUTHERN ITALY IN THE EARLY 90’S, URSELLI STARTED IN HIS EARLY TEENS TO EXPERIMENT WITH SYNTHESIZERS, SEQUENCERS, SAMPLERS, MIDI WHILE LISTENING TO EBM, INDUSTRIAL, AMBIENT, GOTH, DARK AS WELL AS ROCK, METAL (DEATH, BLACK, PROG, HEAVY, DOOM), HARD CORE AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN.

SOON THEREAFTER HE STARTED WRITING TRACKS INSPIRED BY EVERYTHING HE WAS LISTENING TO AND BEGUN TO SEEK COLLABORATING WITH SOME OF THE RARE LIKE-MINDED INDIVIDUALS OF THE EXTREMELY CLOSE-MINDED SURROUNDINGS OF HIS UPBRINGINGS.

ONE SUCH INDIVIDUAL WAS NICOLA “THE OLD NICK” CURRI, METAL CRITIC (METAL DESTRUCTION MAGAZINE) AND SINGER OF THE FAMED BLACK METAL BAND FUNERAL ORATION (WITH WHOM MARC URSELLI ALSO PLAYED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME) WHO ADDED HIS UNIQUE SIGNATURE STYLE SINGING/SCREAMING/WHISPERING TO THE SONGS. THROUGHOUT THE YEARS OTHER MEMBERS SUCH AS BASS PLAYER FABRIZIO “MALFEITOR FABBAN” GIANNESE (FROM BANDS ABORYM, FUNERAL ORATION) AND DARK CRITIC DARIO “LO SNORKIO” CAMPEGGIO DID STINTS IN THE M.E.M.O.R.Y. LAB LINE-UP (ESPECIALLY DURING THE TOURING PERIOD). EVENTUALLY MARC URSELLI AND NICOLA CURRI DID ALL THE RECORDING.

BETWEEN 1994 AND 1999 THE M.E.M.O.R.Y. LAB HAVE RECORDED SEVERAL SONGS TO ANALOG TAPE, CONTRIBUTED TRACKS TO 7 COMPILATIONS AND RELEASED ONE SUPER-LIMITED-EDITION CASSETTE DEMO IN 1996 BUT WERE NEVER ABLE TO PROPERLY RELEASE THE SONGS THEY WERE RECORDING AS ONE FULL-LENGTH CD ALBUM.

THE M.E.M.O.R.Y. LAB
UNOFFICIALLY BUT EFFECTIVELY DISBANDED IN 1999, WHEN URSELLI MOVED TO NEW YORK TO PURSUE A CAREER AS AN ENGINEER/PRODUCER WHILE NICOLA CURRI WENT ON TO BECOME A PRESTIGIOUS FRESCOS-RESTORER, STAGE SET DESIGNER AND ARTIST.

IN 2008, URSELLI RANDOMLY STUMBLED UPON AND RECOVERED THE ORIGINAL RECORDS BY THE M.E.M.O.R.Y. LAB FROM A DUSTY ITALIAN BASEMENT AND DECIDED TO DIGITALLY RE-MASTER THEM IN A STATE OF THE ART RECORDING FACILITY IN NEW YORK CITY.

CANADIAN D-TRASH RECORDS NOW RELEASES IN 2009, THIS EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION OF MATERIAL FROM THE M.E.M.O.R.Y. LAB'S CATALOGUE. INFLUENCES OF THE TWO MUSICIANS AT THE TIME INCLUDE: DIE KRUPPS, YOUNG GODS, NINE INCH NAILS, PANTERA, SEPULTURA, FAITH NO MORE, FRONT 242, FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, MINISTRY, FEAR FACTORY, MY DYING BRIDE, SISTERS OF MERCY, SKINNY PUPPY, PINK FLOYD, LEGENDARY PINK DOTS, CURRENT 93, PSYCHIC TV, DAS ICH, EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN, SIGILLUM S, CHRISTIAN DEATH AND VARIOUS POST BLACK-METAL BANDS.

ANGELSPIT release new album "Hideous & Perfect"

Hailed as being one of the most innovative new industrial bands Angelspit return with a new album Hideous and Perfect, a confronting audio visual statement set to corrupt listeners the world over.

Hideous and Perfect promises to be Angelspit's darkest release to date with its sonic textures ranging from hard pounding beats, to organic atmospheric samples, topped off by a feverishly powerful male and female dual vocal assault. The duo's sonic exploration and creative process took them out of the studio, as they recorded much of the album's pounding industrial percussion at an abandoned shipping yard in Sydney Harbour. They fashioned and sampled handmade acoustic and electronic instruments, imparting a unique organic sonic texture to Hideous and Perfect, while also giving a nod to the experimental roots of industrial music.

Hideous and Perfect is a vicious concoction of industrial guitar riffs, clever hooks and pathologically disturbed synths. Consisting of 12 harsh, heavy and deliberate tracks set to self destruct, Hideous and Perfect is challenging as it is catchy.

undefined

The cyber punk track Ditch the Rest opens the album, with its crunching malicious guitars and aggressive percussion setting the dynamic for the rest of the album. Cold Hard Cash follows combining deceptively sweet vocals with grinding rhythms and anarchic synth melodies. The tracks range from the hypnotic pounding analogue hell of Sleep Now, to the elegantly deranged Let Them Eat Distortion and to Fuck the Revolution's brutal and unforgettable rock and roll trip to insanity. Cinematically chilling instrumental tracks provide some respite from the album's intense mood. Zoog and Destroyx's turbulent vocal onslaught deals thematically with an apathetic cashed up society who are simply 'bored to death'. Angelspit's double edged lyrics can be poetically poignant, at other times witty, but are at all times severely potent.

Angelspit's aesthetic concept is equally as iconic as their musical statement, as they continue to develop their fierce design and fashion aesthetic. Visually arresting photography and bold typography characterises the album's striking artwork making Hideous and Perfect a defining album of the industrial genre.
